Wine By Bok - 9.25/10 Stars
Perhaps 1966 wasn’t a right bank Pomerol vintage, the content did not impress me. But the bouquet, oh my goodness, I have lack of words to describe the bouquet. In French, Lafleur means flower, so this was probably the best description I can give to this label, the nose was stunning with unlimited floral layers, you can use all sorts of flowers to describe the nose, and I can assure you, no flower fragrance was ever wrong! Palette was a bit less impressive, as I detected some greenness and vegetal body, which was not typical for a Pomerol. Perhaps a bit austere, it struggled to express itself as a merlot dominant wine, more like a left bank Cabernet Sauvignon dominant style to me. Anyway, it was still smooth and pleasant despite all the weakness I’ve described.
