1949 Chateau Margaux
The oldest Chateau Margaux I ever had, and one that rightfully blow me off. I was impressed with Ch Margaux 61, but this 49 is of very different style. It is truly what s Margaux should be, read on. We get loads of tea leaves on the nose, along with watermelon, rambutan and even almond. The palette is where it shines; totally burgundy like, sweet, pleasant, creamy and light. I think if I served this in a burgundy glass, it'll fool a lot of wine connoisseurs.
