1959 Chateau Bellevue Saint Emilion Grand Cru
ALMOST LIKE A PETRUS!
This was an unknown label to me, As a Bordeaux expert, I don't even know if it still existed or not. But it took me by surprise, and the nose and content was almost like an aged Petrus!
Nose of very strong and bold character of aged mushrooms, with borderline truffle character, along with bold old leather jacket.
I'd assume this to be merlot based. The palate was extremely rich, still possessed some gripping tannins. Style wise almost like a Petrus; rich and rounded. Stunning!
