1959 Chateau Rausan Segla Grand Cru Classe Margaux
CLASSIC VINTAGE
A whiff and I affirmed the character of Margaux which was flowery fragrance, over time it morphed itself into cognac and some ageing leafy green notes.
Palate was initially too woody, typical of a Margaux character. Gained weight after a short stint, turned more weighty on the palate a while later.
This was a really classic backwards Bordeaux vintage, our guesses were 30 years off, I doubt anyone could nail this vintage easily.
