1961 Sainte Barbe Rivesaltes Doux Naturel
STEP ASIDE, PORT
Before I encountered this bottle, I only knew of a fortified wine called port. This fortified wine coming from Languedoc region of Rivesaltes really opened up my horizon. Almost a clone of port, and ages extremely well just like port.
Very elegant oak and sweet fruits on the nose. Palate wise it was sweet but very elegant and refined, ultra raisins driven, almost a replica of port that I swear by it when this glass was served blind. Bottled in 2011, no wonder the label was so nice!
