1964 Brane Cantenac Margaux
BACK IN THOSE DAYS...
Brane Cantenac was a formidable second growth. I tasted the 61, 62 and 82, all were so great I fell in love with it. 64 was no exception, although not quite a Margaux vintage, still very addictive. Nose of old leather jacket smell, prunes and later dry tobacco leaves evolved. Palette is where the charm is, fully melted tannins, very easygoing, friendly and pleasant, there's not a tinge of loudness from this wine, a really submissive feminine styled wines. For the price, no brainer.
