1964 Cheval Blanc Saint Emilion
LEGENDARY OR NOT?
Apart from 1947, many drinkers rated this 64 as a legendary Cheval Blanc Saint Emilion. This was my second bottle, and consistent style like the previous bottle. Very clinical nose, almost aged port/sherry like. The body was a huge wine, jammed packed with concentrated fruits, very masculine, big and bold, like an unadulterated American wine, still young and fresh. I'm surprised Bordeaux 51 years ago made such style, very unique. Unfortunately not my type of Bordeaux wine, I prefer classic.

I was told this was a legendary Cheval Blanc Saint Emilion, one of the best they have ever produced, I bought a case of it. Upon nosing the wine, I cursed at whoever has introduced me this wine, uber rubbish wine a nose of almost port like that I didn't like at all (nothing like a Classic Bordeaux), the color of the wine was like 90s. As expected, the body of the wine was really dense, really modern in style, absolutely no way I will think this is a Bdx, and in blind tasting, I will not hesitate to bet €1000 not Bdx.
