1964 Leoville Poyferre Saint Julien
Nose: Very lovely nose that has a tart red fruit base and tones of red currants, red cherries, cedar, red florals and some tobacco tones.
As the old saying goes there is no good label but only good btl, we had 2 btls tonight & both came from the same case of Original Wood Case, but the outcome is vastly different. The btl I liked most gas the heavy leather, mint, eucalyptus on the nose. The body is pleasant, elegant, fruit is absolutely alive, rich and thick. Whereas the 2nd btl is acidic, light, fruits are dry, and fading fast. Sigh.
