NO EXPECTATIONS
Drinking aged burgundy, the chances of having an alive bottle is 25% chance, this was really according to my drinking experience with red burgundies. As such, I always set up my expectations so low, it's as good as no expectations. At least it didn't hurt so badly when failures showed up.
I had a big relief when I learned that this bottle was alive! Charred cork, extremely flowery bouquet. It was a big and powerful wine, a bit harsh (certainly not as bright as a young one). Good luck!
