1970 Francesco Rinaldi & Figli Barolo DOCG
When it comes to Piedmont’s Barolo, it’s like a timeless watch, never goes out of fashion. Similarly, Barolo at the age of 48 years old is still timeless, in fact, so vivid I probably thought it just bottled a decade ago (ignoring the color of the wine). I didn’t enjoy the nose, with cow dungs and dry tobacco leaves. But the content was exceptionally fresh and lively, chewable sweetness of fresh cherries. Absolute contrast between the nose and the body!
