1970 Pichon Lalande Pauillac
Awesome, period!
Pichon Lalande 1970 is consistently a wine to die for, as I have drank it at least 3 times in my lifetime. The bouquet was stunning, so floral and elegant that I really cannot find fault with the nose. Palette is impeccable too, I cannot find any weakness with this 49 years old wine at all, everything was in order and faultless, leathery texture with totally melted tannins, plus a soft and smooth touch to the body, cannot ask for more! The only reason I didn’t give a 10/10 rating is because of the Pichon Lalande 1982 that’s the most perfect Pichon Lalande I’ve ever come across and that’s beyond words, so it’s really difficult to give this a 10/, but I can tell you, for $500+, this is as close to a perfect aged Bordeaux as you can get.
