1971 Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo Barolo
It was a very smokey wine on the nose, the intensity exceeded Bordeaux style wines, but this is Nebbiolo grapes. I had this bottle in a double blind tasting, it stood out from all the Bordeaux wines due to its unique palette and funky character, and I did not hesitate to zoom into Italian as the old world style was too prominent. My tasting skills are really getting honed!
