1975 Chateau Beychevelle Saint Julien
DRAGONBOAT
Beychevelle, a fourth growth property in Bordeaux, is called Dragonboat in China, due to a similar logo on the label. This wine is hugely popular in China as it signifies prosperity.
I paired a Saint Julien over a pot of mutton soup (in the background), of which I find it a perfect match during winter (actually I'd prefer Chinese liquor or Baijiu but the alcohol % too high). Smokey nose, palette is exceptionally mellow and pleasant, really a perfect match for the lamb!
