1975 Chateau Lagrange Saint Julien
SOY SAUCE
When I uncorked this 42 years old wine, I swear I smelled heavy soy sauce. Not a good sign, as it probably implied a bad bottle, so I took my chance to decant it. In fact the soy sauce blew away almost immediately! Turned out to be a soft and feminine bouquet. Palate was pleasing as well, it grew with the decanting, became more powerful and matched my beef stew with no qualms. I find it a bit towards the end of life, perhaps in a decade the fruits would have faded. Right now it’s all good to go!
