1975 Riguardo Brunello di Montalcino
HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE
In a recent Italian wines blind tasting, this brunello wine won wine of the night, and deservingly so. Brunello di Montalcino is known as the most long lived Tuscan wine, which is comprised of 100% Sangiovese grapes, and this 43 year old wine showed nothing but finesse.
Nose had loads of dried cherries, a nutty aroma of hazelnut and chocolate. Both the nose and palate showed delicate red fruit flavours. The palate had a good balance of acidity and refined tannins. Perfect drink now!
