1978 Chateau Margaux Pavillon Blanc
BORDEAUX BLANC IN THE 70s.
It's been some luck that I managed to get a case of this gem. Opened a bottle today anxiously to try, crossing my fingers that it's not over the hill. Holy, absolutely not! The fragrance of the wine in the decanter almost filled up the whole room! Still screaming young on the palette, extremely mineral. The faults: a bit short & light, tight and lean. But this is 100% Savignon Blanc which is to be expected. Furthermore SB at 37 years old? Even with faults, forgiveable right?
