1978 Domaine Leroy Le Montrachet Grand Cru
PITY
A Leroy Montrachet is a rare breed given any moment, not to mention 39 years old. I could imagine how difficult to get hold of this bottle, perhaps money talked, but you'll need money in the first place.
Slight oxidation on the nose killed all our enthusiasm, over the hill with aged nose, tobacco and butterscotch. Palate was with pronounced acidity, sourish, and ripe thereafter.
A total pity that we can't drink a perfect conditioned bottle despite a great effort from the contributor.
