GREATEST FRENCH ‘78 3/7
I organized the best of the best French wines ‘78 and confined it to Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone only. Trying to find what region produced the best ‘78. All served double blind.
Bouquet was a bit of a letdown to me, slight chlorine, very lean. Palate was shining big time; thickness and sweetness striked me, along with some heat, ripeness and lushness giving me an impression that this wine was from Rhone. Consensus was Wine of the Day although I prefer something else. 2nd for me.
