1979 Marchesi Antinori Tignanello
RARE SUPER TUSCAN
I was invited to a friend's birthday who was born in 1979 and hence this Tignanello 79. I considered myself very lucky coz Tignanello started this super Tuscan wine in 1971 and it was a huge success (and those days it was 109% Sangiovese grapes). Not easy to find '70s Tignanello anymore.
It was a really pleasant wine to boot. Nose of creamy, strong mint, stewed fruits of strawberry and raspberry. Palate was really minty and pleasant, extremely easy to drink.
