1981 Vieux Chateau Certan Pomerol
Served blind next to the blind La Conseillante 81, I couldn't even get close to the guessing. All characters point to left bank; nose was firmly graves to me, wet earth, tinge of smoke... The palette was first growth quality, very elegant, pleasant and easy drinking. I was programmed to think this as Haut Brion, but certainly surprised to find it a modest and yet a first growth quality! Very pleased to find a good gem at very affordable price.
