This Calon Segur 1982 was arguably the best Calon Segur ever produced. I'd argued that the 1990 was comparatively just as good, but tonight my heart went for this 82.
Elegant smoke, ripe cooked or stewed fruits encapsulated the nose. The content was as chunky in terms of fruits as I can ever recall compared to any other 82s. Seriously the fruits on this vintage was so massive, not only I can chew on it, the freshness of the wine was like it was only brewed yesterday! Really awesome!

I had a hard time trying to decide between 1990 and this 1982. I finally decided the 1990 was a better vintage, due to it's purity and elegance. However, I am not saying this 82 is no good, on the contrary, it's a fantastic wine, it had everything u can ask for in Bordeaux 82 fruits, depth, broad, expansive, bold; it's all the 82 characters. I can't really think of a comparison 82 wines except for Mouton Rothschild 82 being the closest style. Grab it if u can find it, I had so many btls, not once it fail.

Elegant and powerful, well done Dark, well concentrated with a nose of plum, black fruit, leather, cigar box and vanilla, strong tannins. Awesome. Can still keep for years.
