1982 Cos d'Estournel Saint Estephe
STILL GOING STRONG
In a recent vertical of Cos d'Estournel 70, 82, 86, 90, 95 and 03, this vintage definitely left an impression. Although not my top wine, it's safe to say that this wine can still battle it out for years to come.
Similar in style to 86, the nose was delicate with light red fruits, typical latte and tea leaves found in Cos, accompanied with spice and stony minerals. Whilst soft on the nose, the palate was creamy with firm tannins, spice, minerals and tobacco leaves on quite a long finish.
