1985 Baron Philippe De Rothschild
Amazing 5th growth, amazing label and an amazing wine. I never fail to be impressed with this vineyard (now it's called d'Armailhac), had the 45, 61 and now the 85, all are impressive. The nose is typical 85 nose, good fruits with an integrated raw vegetal smell. I was really impressed with the palette; very intense fruits, loads of fruits with chewable berries. The wine just lacks a lot of complexity, but the fruits and acidity and balance more than makes up to the enjoyment.
