1985 Chateau Nenin
Pomerol
I have been an advocate for Bordeaux 1985 vintages for many years, as this vintage has been very consistent with the quality on both banks, and they always possessed the kind of deep and expansive characteristics of Bordeaux of which many other vintages cannot reproduce. Nenin is considered a large estate in Pomerol with 32-hectare vineyard planting with 78% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. The majority merlot grape varietal directly reflected in the content of this 1985 bottle; content was really smooth with no rough edges, albeit a bit too monotonous and one dimensional fruits, it still benefited from the 85 Bordeaux pedigree with deep and pleasurable content.
