1985 Clos du Clocher Pomerol
DRASTIC EVOLUTION
I wasn’t having much expectations for this wine as it’s relatively unknown, but I bought it as I loved Bordeaux 85 vintage very much.
I decided to take the risk and decant it, coz at 32 years old it should be the prime age for Pomerol. A little puzzled on the nose as I detected mainly oak profile with very faint fruits, palate was similar with light and youthful style. But all it took was 45 mins and boom, explosion. The body suddenly morphed into ripe and matured fruits, very Pomerol!
