1985 Yves Boyer Martenot Meursault Perrieres
GRAND CRU QUALITY
Meursault Perrieres does not deserve just a premier cru status, it fully deserved a Grand Cru status! Not sure why it wasn't properly classified in those days, I'd urge the French to relook at the classification.
This unknown maker made, up till now, the best Meursault Perrieres I have ever tasted, step aside Leroy, Roulot, Bouchard... Nose of nice elegant oak, marine, seaweed. Extremely long, complex and rich on the palate, was really balanced, elegant, soiled and mineral. Surprise!
