1986 Cos d'Estournel Saint Estephe
WEIRD COS
I had many Cos d'Estournel 86 before, but none was as strange as this bottle (bear in mind there's no great label, only great bottles). It was the nose that shocked me, what did I get?
Fishy! Fish tank smell! Goodness me, never had I ever came across such nose! But it was obvious and not me along observed such character. In addition, slightly leafy and smoky.
However nothing was wrong with the palate, it was typical Cos character; elegant, big, bold and very structured. What happened?
