Sometimes I really wondered if critics like Parker gave scores based upon a glass of the wine rather than going through the whole bottle? This bottle was so appealing on the first few sips I would score it highly next to l’Evangile 89, but it doesn’t have the stamina to outrun l’Evangile. A short sprinter just cannot be compared to a marathon runner.
我有时很想知道那些酒评专家是怎么评酒的？凭头几口的感觉下定论，还是喝完整瓶才有结论？这瓶金钟的前几口的确非常吸引我，完完全全是很优雅而且口感非常好，我肯定凭着几口就给金钟很高的分数，但是金钟却没有体力跑赢乐王吉。所以一位短跑健将不能跟一个马拉松长跑相提并论的！

STRONG AND POWERFUL
This was quite an atypical Angelus, and I didn't expect it to be with such a character back in the old days. I remembered Angelus was shockingly good with great finesse, but the 89 was totally different character...
Nose of overpowering vanilla oak, signifying somehow an abuse of oak which was to my surprise and I understood why RP awarded it high scores (I wouldn't). Palate was with elevated acidity despite chunky fruits of predominantly Cabernet Franc characters, strong & powerful.
