1989 Chateau Pavie
FIRST GROWTH STATUS?
Pavie has been on the roll, so my question is, are they really on par with Cheval Blanc Saint Emilion, Ausone and Angelus to be on a Premier Grand Cru Class A (1st growth) status? One has to drink older vintages to find out. 89 is a good gauge. Decent amount of fruits, alcoholic nose. Palette wise, its very fruity, very intense, good flavor and feels like drinking blackcurrent and strawberry jams. Although it faded fairly fast. Still to be applauded for doing a good job. They deserve it!
