1989 Jean Grivot Nuits St Georges 1er Les Boudots
NSG NO GRAND CRU
I'm not aware that Nuits Saint Georges possessed any Grand Cru, mainly Premier Cru or below. However, this excellent vintage and excellent maker has pushed the wine to be at Grand Cru level in my opinion, in fact much better than a lot of Grand Crus. Very ripe nose, mainly stewed strawberries coupled with tobacco leaves and acidity. Body was great, superbly balanced, very rich, very ripe, and it has this charm that's very different from most red burg. Well, I don't always rubbish burgs.
