1990 Chateau d’Angludet Margaux Cru Bourgeois
I have stressed many times that 1990 was probably one of the best vintages that’s ready to drink. I personally preferred 1990 over 1982 as 1990 vintage were more stable and predictable. Thus, it’s easy to take a pick of this wine when it showed up. Quite a typical bouquet of Margaux appellation of floral notes and dark chocolates. The palate was soft, matured and with great finesse, really elegant type of finesse, already worth the price tag. I have some leftovers for the next day, unfortunately, it fell off the cliff. The nose showed strong eucalyptus, a sign of downhill. Palate was still holding up, but struggling towards the end of bottle life. Uncork the bottle and drink it up, don’t save for the next day.
