1992 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru
TWO STRIKES
It was served blind. Funky nose dominated the night, coupled with smoke and some claimed to be a marijuana nose. It was really a great wine as my palette can tell, very rich, layered, very complex, very mellow, deep and broad, turned masculine later. My guess was a 1992, first strike correct. Then label, and was spot on again that my first word blurted Leflaive, two strikes. Now the difficult choice: chevalier or Bienvenues? I opted the formal, thus the 3rd strike didn't materialize. Sad.
