SAUTERNES CLONE?
Served double blind. The character was too close to Sauternes, tending towards Barsac. Got loads of apricot and pineapple on the nose. Not extremely sweet like a Doisy Daene or Suduiraut, more toned down like a Climens or Coutet. However it tends towards dilution towards the end of palette. First time I have a sweet dessert wine from Alsace so I was rather lacked knowledge, but was certainly an eye opener to learn something new from these blind tastings!
