1995 La Clusiere St Emilion Grand Cru
This is the first time I tasted wine from this chateau, obviously no expectations. Turned out to be shockingly impressive! I believe it’s also the great 1995 vintage in play. Bouquet of very ripe red cherry fruits with vanilla oak mingling in between. Palette tasted like a Pomerol; superbly ripe and forward, creamy and matured. No sign of a St Emilion style, more like a Pomerol wine to me. This is at the perfect drinking window right now.
