GOOD BUT NOT GREAT 不错但是不是最好
Had many bottles of Latour 96, this was another bottle that I feel exactly the same as previous bottles, good but not great. Definitely not worth the RP100 rating, as the Lafite 96 sibling suppressed this Latour with no effort. Very typical Latour nose, strong Pauillac style. Content was very slightly green and very thick juice.
喝过了很多这瓶拉图96，每次我都评分为不错但是不是最好，尤其是在拉菲96这位大哥在场的时候拉图96都不是对手。我觉得拉图96不值得派克给的满分酒。香味非常拉图,也非常波雅克风格。内容有点淡淡的青椒味，但是口感非常浓厚和踏实，一款非常有陈年潜能的酒。

DUTY FREE CHEATS
If you visit airports, beware of buying wines from these so called Duty Free Shops. First, duty and VAT weren’t paid, second, prices were double of duty paid shops. I found shops in Singapore selling for $1,180, at this Duty Free Shop, $2,400! The maths didn’t add up.
Regardless, Latour 96 didn’t deserve RP100 either. Decanted for 4 hours, was not drinking as great as the La Mission Haut Brion 98 next to it. Relatively flat and unexciting, perhaps it requires another 30 yrs of aging.

Had a vertical Latour tasting. Tidying my notes here. Here is the vintage & consensus ranking in ascending order: 83 (last), 96, 66, 95, 57, 70, 90, 01, 89 (first). 9 attendees voted for these 9 btls, so it's a fair judgment. Had Latour 96 (ex chateau provenance) many times, it was really over rated by Parker, definitely not worth the 100 points. True enough, last 2nd place.
