1996 Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques
VERTICAL ROUSSEAU CLOS ST JACQUES
We finally managed to arrange for a vertical tasting of Armand Rousseau Clos St Jacques with vintages of 62, 93, 96, 99, 01, 02, 04, 08 present. Takeaway was that Rousseau CsJ is extremely consistent throughout vintages. Consensus vote was 96 as #1, 93 as #2 and 01 as #3.
WOTN for me, I gave it a 100 points! Better than 93, with more richness, superb balance, very matured and the tannins are fully integrated into the wine. One of the best nose of sous bois.
