1996 Domaine Leflaive Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru
KILLER WHIFF
Served blind, a whiff and I already enjoyed the character on the nose: spicy, ginger and gunpowder, typical obvious character of Leflaive, and i blurted out my guess. Well, I'm half correct.
Palate was buttery, rich and soft, perhaps not as exciting as the nose. I was a bit lost and couldn't guess what it was anymore. Was surprised to learn that it was a Batard Montrachet. Lesson learned.
