1996 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline
NOT THE BEST
I had quite a few vintages of La Mouline in the past, one of my all time favorite plot, and mainly awarding it 5 stars. Unfortunately 96 was a really poor vintage amongst all other vintages in Cote Rotie, as evidenced in the content.
Nose of Vanilla, wet leaves mingled with spearmint and smell leaning towards medicinal. Content was wet leaves, sourish, vanilla and with very pronounced acidity. The taste lean towards Spanish wine (served blind), was shocked to find out it's a La Mouline.
