In such a great Bordeaux vintage except right bank, I would expect a wine like Haut Brion 96 to perform. Instead, it was quite disappointing initially. Nose of inky and earthy. Palate was way too light and unsophisticated initially, although it improved tremendously after 30 mins. Originally worth 4* and I upgraded it to 4.5* thereafter.
96年是个伟大的波尔多年份（除了右岸以外）。我期待一级庄的侯柏王好好的表现，但是初初出期的失望。带着濹水的芳香和泥土味。味蕾太过轻淡和一点都不复杂，没有其他年份的侯柏王的风格。我在杯子里醒了大概半个小时，渐渐的进步。我刚开始的评分为4星，后来才升级为4.5星。滑铁卢上演了，可惜。
