1996 Lafite Rothschild Pauillac

Even though it wasn’t my Wine of the Night, but many people voted for this as the champion of the night. It was my 2nd tied with 2005. Nose was slightly diluted with some chlorine smell (strange!) primarily red fruits on the palate, intense and rich flavor, with flavor of multiple layers, stunning complexity! I revisited it again after the formal tasting and re verify that my score was consistent.
虽然不是我今晚的冠军，却是很多人的冠军。这是我的第二。鼻子没有拉菲特色，有点掺水的感觉。口感澎湃，强烈。果味有特别浓厚的层次感，非常想象不到的复杂感！我后来再评分，得到的分数结论是一样的。

TWINS 双胞胎的拉菲
Do you really believe two bottles of the same label tasted the same? Sorry to tell you it doesn’t. One bottle came from ex chateau, the other bottle from a reputable UK merchant. They tasted totally different. The ex chateau condition was pristine with very powerful fruits and definitive Pauillac style, while the other was much weaker. Provenance in play.
你真的相信两瓶同样标签的拉菲96会是同一个味道吗？那你还需要多累积喝酒的经验，因为他们差别特别大！一瓶是酒庄的来源，另一瓶是英国有名望的商家买的。酒庄来源的那一瓶非常有实力而且果味澎湃大气，很有波亚克的风格。而英国买的酒相对弱了很多。我说酒的来源是喝酒最重要的因素，不是价钱！

INCOMPREHENSIBLE
I have been drinking Bordeaux for half my life, and I can tell you one wine in the whole Bordeaux that's the most difficult to understand, even with my drinking experience Lafite Rothschild.
Nose of wet earth, wet rock, inky, graphite and strong powerful character. Palate was powerful, strong and rich which only 96 Lafite possessed this character as normally Lafite is of extreme elegance, and warm. Both characters were found in this vintage. Don't understand Lafite? Drink more!
