1996 Leoville Barton Saint Julien
THREE MUSKETEERS
I was served blind for this bottle, smelled like some kind of wet leaves, wet greenness with a tinch of merlot and obvious left bank nose, immediately I zoomed into Saint Julien, perhaps one of the three Leoville Musketeers. I immediately ruled out Las Cases and Poyferre, possibly a Gruaud Larose or a Barton. Not too far away :)
Not the greatest 96 left bank, but drinking well with good depth and spectrum of good and bad. Quite inky to start, a bit iodine and tannins still lurking around.
