1997 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet 1er Les Combettes
Drinking next to Leflaive Folatieres 97 blind, I must confess the Folatieres won 3/4 of the race, but the last stretch gave in to this Combettes, no wonder Combettes is priced slightly more than Folatieres. It has good bouquet, mineral on the nose. Mellow, acidic, broad & deep finish, very complex white. The true color did not show up till 45 mins later and then suddenly overtake the Folatieres without looking back at all. Man, stunning white burgundy. Really difficult for ANY whites in the world to match!
