1997 Jean Michel Gerin La Landonne Cote Rotie
UP AND COMING
This superb plot of land from Cote Rotie was an up and coming label, as reflected on the price which was quickly catching up with Guigal's three La. I had the pleasure to taste an older vintage to formulate my opinion.
Easily mistaken this as a Bordeaux Graves given it's earthy, soil character. It was structured but also carried finesse along with it. Very pleasant and well made, almost like a finely tailored suit. The finishing carried a unique burned butter taste that surprised me!
