Having just had the 89, I could not detect this bottle that came from the same family. Very big and very inky on the nose, I noted that it was extremely tannic, coupled with big graphite, bitter towards the finishing, and more importantly it was still a simple wine. I am still puzzled by the different styles with the 9 year difference except for the simple shared character. Looks like it gears towards Bordeaux nose when it ages.
