1999 Chateau de Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc
CAN AGE?
Served blind, my guess was truly miles apart. Thought it was a very aged Montrachet (perhaps early 70s) due to the similar characters I had before, plus the color was golden yellow color. Couldn't believe it was only 17 years old from Rhone! I was wondering if their whites can really age well? The bottle I had doesn't seem to reflect my question.
Both nose and palate was full of barley, chrysanthemums tea, mildly oily, big and bold on the palate, this 80% Marsanne 20% Grenache Blanc surprised me
