1999 Domaine Ramonet Bienvenue Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru
Served blind. This wine needs a lot of time and patience, unfortunately in a blind tasting you don't get 2 hours to observe the wines, more like 20 min, thus all important characters are missed out. It didn't start off as a good wine, smokey, loads of tropical fruits on the nose. Very elevated acidity, relatively good fruits, easy drinking and somehow melts in the tongue. Took 2+ hours to open up to finally drink well on my last few sips. Sigh.
