1999 Fontaine Gagnard Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru
Even though Fontaine Gagnard is well known for its Criots Batard Montrachets, I must admit even his Bartard Montrachets is just as impressive. The nose was very complex, very refined and elegant pine wood nose. The palette is just as complex; more masculine than the Criots (which is very soft and feminine), but no lack of good fruits, minerality, complexity, depth.... You name it, the wine has got everything you asked for! Definite 5 star ratings, don't even doubt me.
