1999 Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs
NOT THE SAME
My friend brought two bottles of the same champagnes, both were from the same box. These are US labeled, thus provenance was US.
I always enjoyed this house and this vintage, used to have a case of it, finished long ago. Despite being an identical twin, they tasted vastly different side by side.
First bottle was tight, flavor only came up after warming up in the glass. Second bottle was much more forward, nose of soap and chalks, fruits were more generous and dancing around. Interesting!
