2000 Chateau Lagrange Saint Julien
LONGEVITY
I don’t have too many disappointing Lagrange, of which I believe it’s the winemaking philosophy behind the label. Being a Saint Julien, there are many tough competitions, the three Leovilles will overwhelm Lagrange any moment.
I had to decant it for more than an hour before it was approachable. Initially totally muted nose and body. It opened up with very elegant and fruity body, chunky fruits but not overpowering. There’s still some tannins lurking around. Long life ahead of this solid wine!
