2000 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru
QUEEN OF WHITE BURGUNDY...
We had a White Burgundy Grand Cru tasting this afternoon. Totally awesome to host this event, extremely rare to have such a tasting. As a host, I'm proud.
Leflaive is Leflaive, producing one of the best whites in France. It was consensus vote to be Wine of the Day for this bottle, by a far margin. Surprisingly heavily oaked, I can't find a trace of feminine Chevalier style in this wine, it was all muscular and powerful but lacks slight finesse. Perhaps a female turned male :)
